Main Roads WA

Three lane roundabouts and other news

  • Main Roads WA have recently added a new roundabout design template to their list of Standards. This roundabout design template features three approach lanes to the intersection and may be suited to larger arterial roads which may have until more recent times accommodated traffic signals. Expect to see more of these larger roundabouts in the future.

  • As part of Urbii’s commitment to Continued Professional Development and innovation, Urbii has registered to participate in a webinar hosted by Engineers Australia about SCRAM. Schedule Compliance Risk Assessment Methodology (SCRAM) used in Defence is a structured and repeatable approach to project review and assurance which has been developed by industry consultants in partnership with Defence over a ten-year period. Any valuable lessons learnt will be applied to Urbii’s project management systems as we are always striving to improve our service to clients.

  • Urbii supports Engineering students and graduates, and is actively seeking to mentor young Engineers. Urbii representatives will be attending this years thesis presentations related to transport which will be hosted by AITPM. We value the opportunity to hear from and meet some of the bright young professionals that are stepping into our industry. Selected students from the University of Western Australia will present their practical results from transport related thesis.

Stay tuned for more news from Urbii next month. We hope to provide regular updates on news from our organisation and to share traffic, transport and parking tips which may benefit your work.
